Seizure Surgery is done for medically refractory seizures such as in some cases of Mesial Temporal Sclerosis. This is accomplished by resection of certain diseased parts of the affected temporal lobe of the brain (Amigdalohypocampectomy). Also, in some cases of Extra-temporal brain lesions causing intractable seizures, diseased areas of brain can be identified and resected for better seizure control.
